It seems that lately, every time someone asks me for a product recommendation, it's always for bronzers. The requests are always the same too... "I'm looking for something that looks natural," "I don't want to look orange," and "nothing too shimmery." Seems simple enough, and yet a lot of women still have trouble finding the right tone and texture. Most brands carry a range of colors to suit different complexions, but I always suggest trying the lightest shade first. Throughout the day, your bronzer can deepen in color, caused by the oil production in your skin. By using a lighter shade than you think you'll need, you will avoid that "dirty" bronzer look. Just remember, you're trying to create the look of being sun-kissed, not an overall tan.
Here are some of the best bronzing powders that have made it into my makeup kit, with great options for every budget.
What's your favorite bronzer?
Love my NARS Laguna! Was very sad to see that it was cracked yesterday. Hoola might be next on my to try list!

Great post! I have the bare mineral but it is easy to over do. They mean business when they say a little goes a long way lol.

I love this post! I'm always looking for a great bronzer and trying new ones and they never look natural on me. I'm going to try some of these.
ReplyDeleteYes, Bren, I'll let you know when I go to Dry Bar and hopefully we can meet up there! It's be so fun to meet you! I'll keep you posted. ;)

Such a helpful post! Thanks Bren.
ReplyDeleteI love Trish McEvoy bronzer. Although, I am starting to incorporate mineral makeup into my routine, and will switch over soon. What is your take on mineral makeup?
:) Marcie
I don't often use bronzer - I'm so pale that any shade just tends to make me look dirty! I do like Benefit products though so I would be tempted to try the Hula.

I have used Hoola blush before and I loved it. It was the prettiest shade of pink. Maybe I should try the bronzer now!
ReplyDeleteI rarely use bronzer for the exact reasons that you've mentioned! I love every one of your finds and will definitely be breaking it out this summer.
