Sunday Lilacs

Yesterday was such a gorgeous Sunday...perfect for Farmer's Market flower shopping! I love that every week there's an abundance of fresh blooms, at reasonable prices, making it easier to enjoy a bouquet more often. I was so excited when I remembered that it's Lilac season!

They only bloom once a year, but it's SO worth the wait. These delicate, tiny flowers produce the most amazing fragrance! ( which I think, is what this sign is trying to say...hahaha)

There were also a variety of mixed flowers, beautiful orchids, and some potted plants and rose trees.

Here are my lilacs after I clipped them down, pounded the stems with a hammer (so they'll drink water), and arranged them in a vase for my bedside table.

Don't you just love Spring?!

  1. Beautiful!
Thanks for your sweet comment, if I had known I would had definitely had you pick me up a bottle of the ever so hard to find nail polish! Hopefully mine will be here tomorrow :)

  2. They look so pretty on your bedside table!! :) And let me know what you think about Paulette's Macaron's if you go! I don't think you'll be disappointed.

  3. Punctuation Mark: thanks for visiting my blog!

Katie: you're so welcome! you have to post pics after you get your polish! Looking forward to seeing it on! I'm sure it'll be gorge!

Alicia: thank you! Looks like I'll have to wait til next week to get a taste of Paulette's Macaroons. But next week FOR SURE!!!
I'll give a full report on the blog after I go.
    Can't wait!

  4. Lovely flowers! I probably should get more flowers, the ones I bought two weeks ago are long gone.

  5. I totally agree with you -- I love Spring and lilacs! Actually, I love any flower (especially if its aroma is as pretty as it looks!) What a great way to spend your Sunday.
    Great blog!

  6. I can't wait for lilacs to start blooming here! They usually start right around my May birthday.
