First...the Good News

So....it wasn't the transmission. Phew! Turns out, it was a little clip that holds the cable in place, connecting  the shifter to the transmission. Should be simple, right? Wrong. :(   Of course they don't just sell the clip. You have to buy a whole new cable! The price of the cable isn't that bad ($200) but the labor to install it is $400! I'm grateful that it's only $600, but that could've been some really fun shopping money!

I guess these will have to wait.

After dealing with all of this car stuff I desperately needed to laugh, and SNL came to my rescue!  Betty White was incredible! Did you all watch? I can't believe that woman is 88?! I loved that some of my old favorites came back (Molly Shannon, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, Anna Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch), making this probably the funniest SNL I've seen in a long time!

If you missed it, click on over to youtube, or nbc.com

I hope everyone had a good weekend, and a great Mother's Day!

  1. Glad you got your car fixed! I saw SNL and thought it was hilarious. Loved Betty White of course, but also loved Maya Rudolph doing Whitney Houston again - hilarious!

  3. Ugh, it's always such a bummer when you think about what fun shoes / clothes you could have spent your money on... rather than parts for a car. But things could be worse!!

  9. Isn't it amazing how expensive car repairs can be?! I feel like whenever you bring it in for a hiccup, it's at least $300 to fix it!

  10. I really need to check out SNL, and car repairs are the worst! Atleast it wasn't a transmission though, that would cost an entire wardrobe!
